I am a recent transplant to Lynden (2007) from the state of Michigan, where I was an
active member of MTNA, the state MMTA, and the local chapter in Lansing, Michigan.  I
served on the board for several years, and was recipient of the 'Teacher of the Year' award
in 2006.
My undergraduate degree was Bachelor of Arts from Calvin College, with a major in
music education, and piano performance.  Graduate studies were done at Michigan State
University. I taught elementary music until retirement in 1998, directed church choirs,
and played for church services.  I enjoy playing piano, and learning new music for the
piano.  It gives me joy helping students develop their skills and their love of 'making
music' at the piano. I am accepting adult students only at this time.  I am also available
as a substitute pianist for worship services, and other playing opportunities.
